ECS Building Access during COVID-19
The Engineering Computer Science building has re-opened to students, faculty and staff for regular courses for the September 2021 term.
BC Public Health Order restrictions remain in place for public spaces, and masks are required. Please refer to the Universities official Return to Campus Policies for more information.
The Department of Computer Science is located in the ECS building at UVic. The Department has labs and offices located on the 2nd to 6th floors of ECS.
Within ECS there are 10 undergraduate programming labs, with shared printers located on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Access to programming labs is restricted to students registered in computer science courses.
The Department office is located in ECS 504. Research labs, staff, faculty and graduate student offices are located on floors 4 to 6.
Electronic Key Passes
After hours access to undergraduate labs is possible using electronic key passes. Passes are available through the UVic bookstore.

Monday-Thursday 7:30 am-11:00 pm
Friday 7:30 am-9:00 pm
Saturday 10:00 am - 9:00 pm
Sunday 10:00 am-11:00 pm
Weekend and holiday access is by key and key-card only.\
