Zoom Video Conference Service

Tutorials - Video Recording and creating Web ready lectures

When recording videos with an iphone or a mobile device, the devices may default to producing high definition video fies which can be too large for downloading and should be re-sized to be optimized for use on the web. Videos recorded from online services, like Zoom, are already optmizied for web downloading.

Department Video Conferencing

Rocketchat - the Department’s internal team chat service has embedded support for video conferencing using Jitsi-meet opensource project.

UVic Remote Access VPN Services

Many network application services within the Department are not accessible outside of the Engineering Network and are not available on wireless.

Students, staff and faculty wanting to remotely access services like printing, file shares, and research compute clusters from wireless or off campus will need to connect using UVic’s centralized VPN service.
